Margo Mayor

Margo Mayor danced her way from Detroit to New York City in the early 1960s, joining Actors’ Equity at just 17. She performed on and Off-Broadway and in summer stock productions including West Side Story, Li’l Abner, The Boy Friend, What a Killing, Infidel Caesar, and Oklahoma! In 1964, Margo appeared as “The Mermaid” in Wonder World, the 1964 New York World’s Fair water extravaganza featuring Chita Rivera and Gretchen Wyler.

Her career has also extended to film, television, and modeling, including an appearance in Mike Nichols’ Working Girl, a successful career as a New York fitting model, and running her own modeling agency. Margo later performed with the charitable Latin Quarter Showgirls, Inc. and continues her life in the theater as a supernumerary at the Metropolitan Opera.
