John the Model

Following his service in the U.S. Army, John returned to New York to pursue a career as a singer and entertainer. Like many actors, dancers, and singers of the era, he took flexible work between auditions and engagements that allowed him to earn a living while remaining available for the next production. For John, that included modeling calls and appearances in print advertisements and periodicals from the mid-1950s into the mid-1960s. The work offered both income and exposure without taking him away from his primary ambition: a life in show business.
